[ACADEMY AWARDS] 81st Annual Oscar Nominations
OOOOOOOOKAY. So, the Oscar nominations came out. And... wow. All I have to say, and I'm sorry, but WHERE is Gran Torino? I mean NO where? Really? Not a single place? NOTHING? Damn.

Just. Damn.

Which means, the rest of them are gonna go like this:

  • Should Win
    WILL WIN
I'll be so disappointed if they win

Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role

    Richard Jenkins (THE VISITOR)
    Frank Langella (FROST/NIXON)
  • Sean Penn (MILK)
Brad Pitt (THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON)
    Mickey Rourke (THE WRESTLER)

Here's the thing, either people will be TOTALLY behind Sean Penn because of the Prop8 biz or they'll be TOTALLY against him. Either way, it should be his award. No offense, but TCCOBB bored me. And Brad Pitt? You just didn't do it for me, honey.

Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role

    Josh Brolin (MILK)
    Robert Downey Jr. (TROPIC THUNDER)
    Philip Seymour Hoffman (DOUBT)
    Heath Ledger (THE DARK KNIGHT)
    Michael Shannon (REVOLUTIONARY ROAD)

I'm not EVEN TOUCHING THIS ONE. Nope. No how, no way. Only because I never thought that RDJ would get nominated, I don't care how cool they were with Johnny Depp. And where I forgot that the Joker was Heath? I totally forgot that RDJ was NOT a black man. He didn't break character to break character- You know what I mean if you've seen it. I have a feeling it'll go to Heath Ledger because he died and I disagree with people saying he wouldn't have gotten the nom had he lived. It was an EXCELLENT performance. In that vein, I wonder if the voters will take pity on RDJ and call it his comeback year. WHO KNOWS? Not I.

Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role

  • Anne Hathaway (RACHEL GETTING MARRIED)
    Angelina Jolie (CHANGELING)
    Melissa Leo (FROZEN RIVER)
    Meryl Streep (DOUBT)
    Kate Winslet (THE READER)

Dammit. And I only say dammit because Kate wasn't nom'd in the Supporting category. *sighs* And though people will disagree and say that Kate's been working for it longer or whatever (which ticks me off because it's not length, it's performance), I've been hearing that Disney Princesses shouldn't get Oscars. And I think that when Disney Princesses become drug addicted meth-heads? They do. God I love Kate Winslet.

Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role

    Amy Adams (DOUBT)
    Penélope Cruz (VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA)
    Viola Davis (DOUBT)
  • Taraji P. Henson (THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON)
    Marisa Tomei (THE WRESTLER)

It might be hard out here for a pimp, but DAMN I love her. I REALLY want her to win and as much as I ♥ Penelope, I JUST DIDN'T in that movie. She rambled in Spanish and threw things. I didn't like it. No. But oh GOODNESS was Taraji ADORABLE in TCCOBB. Love her. LOOOOOOOVE HER.

Best Animated Feature Film of the Year

    BOLT
    KUNG FU PANDA
  • WALL-E

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA. O HAI WALL-E.

    Achievement in Directing

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON
    FROST/NIXON
    MILK
    THE READER
  • SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

    Easy.

Best Motion Picture of the Year

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON
    FROST/NIXON
    MILK
    THE READER
    SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

This is where Gran Torino would have gone, but since it's not there? *singsong* I'm not telllllllllllling.
