[TRUE BLOOD] ... and my icon :D
So, I watched True Blood...

About that? It's not a BAD show. I guess. I mean, for an HBO show, I expected better. A LOT better.

If I'm going to see that many boobs, I wanna see cock. For all that blood, why can't I see manbits? Really? All this 'explicit sexuality' and NO MENPARTS.

And it's not that I'm expecting penis penis penis, but for all those boobs? Come on. And it's not even that, but all that blood? It's a show about vampires and I get that, but her brother and his girlfriend at the end? Give. Me. A. Break. In fact, her brother PERIOD. Nothin' but fuckin' after drinking vampire blood and fuckin' in the alley and fuckin' here and fuckin' that and... the show wasn't about VAMPIRES, it was about this boy getting his sex on as an excuse for [SOMEONE] to kill people.

That [SOMEONE]? Obvious. It was either him or the big teddy bear that was too nice. The show was way too predictible for me. And boring at times.

I just... I expected better.

Know why?

Because I watched ROME. That's why. Boobs? Check. Blood? CHECK. Manbits? OH YES.

That show was aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamazing. Done well. And I guess I know why HBO did True Blood. Because they were SO BROKE after Rome, that they got stuck doing THAT shit.

Eeeeesh.

PS: Everyone I see now is talking like Lafayette is the dead one in the car. The first person I thought of was Tara's mom. Hmmm.

PPS: Plus, Anna Paquin? Has a fucking Oscar. Why is she doing THIS shit? A Golden Globe, wtg bb. Cover your titties. And that gap. Ugh.

I'm off to watch that Other Show now. And to bask in THAT particular brand of Fantastic Awesome. Geez.

You know, this is something I can finally understand! I watched True Blood too and just. do. not. get. it. I thought it was because I was dumb. But the show is.

Also...didn't you know? When it comes to vampires blood = penis. You were seeing penis all along and didn't know it.

OKAY. SO. I really thought I was the only one who didn't get what the BIG FUCKING DEAL WAS about it. I mean. I like vampires. I like Louisiana accents. I... don't really like Anna Paquin, and Bill is by far not the hottest guy on that show, but Sookie is all 'OMG BILLLL'

Granted, I haven't seen the last three episodes. But still. I think the concept is cool, but what they've done for it visually and weaving it into a television show? Nothing special. Cornball almost.

Yeah.

Me, too. I had some issues with the adaptation of the movie. I liked the casting, but... well... I could go on.

Ha. Lunch break stopped me? But now I'm back!

I think maybe it's my own personal opinion that the love portrayed in the books is really cornball. I'm sure that somebody somewhere has found love like that, but it really didn't translate well visually.

My biggest problem with the film version was that things seemed to move too quickly. The stuff between Bella and Edward that I liked the most in the books -- the humorous parts, and all the questions she asks -- all of that stuff was glossed over. It seemed like one of the most significant parts in the book to me, and was almost entirely left out of the film.

I don't hate the film, but I definitely didn't love it like I appreciated the books.

That is an awesome review of True Blood. It, yeah, just wasn't great. I watched it, but did I ever mention I watched it? No. Because it was just there. And you're right, manbits should happen more often. You know what it is, though? Rome was full of British actors. There are always more manbits when the British are involved.

I get what you mean about expecting better. I started watching because of all the people I saw saying how much they liked it. It does make me want to read the books, though, because something tells me they'd be more interesting.
